Gangtok is a modern and well-planned city which is the capital of Indian state Sikkim. Situated at an altitude of 5500 feet it is considered as one of the most beautiful hill stations of India. Currently it is the most popular tourist spot if you have a relatively low budget.
How to reach Gangtok On day 1 reach Gangtok from your home town. Gangtok can be reached both by train or air. By train reach New Jalpaiguri (NJP) station of West Bengal. There are several trains available from all major cities of the country to NJP.
By air, reach Pakyong airport. From NJP the distance of Gangtok is 125Km and It will take 3 to 4 hours to reach Gangtok from Bagdogra or NJP by car. The rate of a car is between 2500 and 4000 rupees, depending on the number of seats available. From Pakyong the distance of Gangtok is 28.7 Km and it will take around 2 hours to reach Gangtok from this airport by car. The cab fare is around Rs 1000.
On day2 go for a local city sightseeing tour. A local cab will charge INR 3000 to 3500 for 10 points site seeing. Places of interest are: Rumtek Monastery: Rumtek Monastery is a gompa located near Gangtok.
MG Marg: The heart of the city is MG Marg. It is the main street of Gangtok and is a great place to hang around. Banjhakri Falls: It is one of the most beautiful places in Gangtok. The park surrounding the falls area is well maintained. Seven Sister Water Falls: It is another beautiful waterfalls near Gangtok.
Gangtok Ropeway: Take a ride of Gangtok Ropeway to get a bird’s eye view of the city. Ganesh Tok: It is a temple of Lord Ganesha located 6km from Gangtok town. Tashi View Point: It is located 8Km away from Gangtok town and offers a stunning view of Mount Kanchenjunga snow peaks on a clear day. Hanuman Tok: The famous Hanuman temple is popular for its wonderful serene ambience and a viewing area that offers spectacular view of Kanchenjunga range. Nmgyal Institute of Tibetan Technology: It is the one of the main Tibetan Institutes of the world. Enchey Monastery: This is another famous site to visit near Gangtok.

Popular as the queen of hills, this beautiful hilly town is located at the northern part of West Bengal. The place is famous for its tea gardens and Himalayan Mountain Railway which is an UNESCO World Heritage train route. It is located at an altitude of 6700 ft. How to reach Darjeeling On day 1 reach New Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra airport from any part of India. From there take a car to reach Darjeeling. A local car will charge around INR 2500 for this trip.
A shared cab will charge Rs 200 per person. It will take 3 hours to reach Darjeeling from NJP station or Bagdogra airport. On day-2 early in the go to Tiger Hill to see sunrise.
After breakfast go for local sightseeing tour. A local taxi will charge Rs 1800 to 2000 for this whole day tour. First visit Batasia Loop War memorial and Ghoom Monastery. Then go to visit Lamahatta. Dalhousie is beautiful tiny hill station situated in Himachal Pradesh. Peace, scenic beauty, old colonial charm, pine-clad valleys, snow capped mountain ranges you can find all these in Dalhousie. In order to reach Dalhousie, first reach Pathankot by train.
Pathankot is nearly 85 km away from Dalhousie. You can take a bus or car to reach Dalhousie from Pathankot. By road, a car will take around 3 hours to reach Dalhousie from Pathankot. On day2 go to visit Khajjair.
Khajjiar is a small platue located 6500 feet above the sea level. This mesmerising place is also known as mini Switzerland of India. First go to Khajjair Lake. Surrounded by snow covered mountains, this lake is a tranquil place and is famous for natural beauty. Next go to Kalatop wildlife sanctuary. The Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a large variety of flora and fauna.

For that 1st reach Chandigarh from any part of India. From there take a bus or car to reach Manali. Manali is almost 300 km away from Chandigarh and it will take 9 hours to reach Manali from Chandigarh by road. By air reach Bhuntar Domestic Airport first. Bhuntar is 50 Km away from Manali and it will take almost 1 and half hour to reach Manali from Bhuntar. On day 2 go for local sightseeing.
Top places to visit are: Hadimba Temple This beautiful temple, said to be dedicated to Hadimba – the wife of Pandu son Bhima and is the best place to visit in Manali.
